Privacy
How Bobtime handles personal data, cookies, and Google Analytics. This page is for everyone, including people in the EU, UK, and EEA.
Who is responsible
Bobtime (bobtime.net) is the controller for personal data processed on this site.
What we collect
We collect what we need to run Circles and reminders:
- start.gg account
- When you log in, start.gg sends us your gamer tag, prefix, user id, player id, slug, and email if it shares one. We store OAuth tokens so we can keep you signed in and load tournament data you asked for.
- Bobtime data
- Circle membership, roles, follows, settings, pinned Circle messages, reminder logs, optional browser push subscriptions (one per device that enables them), and a calendar subscribe secret for Circles that turn the feed on.
- Session cookie
- A first-party session cookie keeps you logged in. It is necessary for the site to work. It is not used for advertising.
Legal bases
Running Circles, schedules, and reminders is based on performing the service you asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in keeping the app working (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Google Analytics runs only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy cookie rule). New accounts start with it on. You can withdraw it in Settings at any time. Withdrawing does not affect Circles, login, or reminders.
Google Analytics
If you opt in, Bobtime grants Google Analytics 4 cookie storage on later pages while you are logged in. New accounts start with it on. You can turn it off in Settings. Existing accounts keep whatever they already saved. Local development never sends Analytics. On bobtime.net the Google tag is present so the property can run; analytics cookies stay off if you turn it off in Settings.
We use it to see which pages people open. We do not send your start.gg id, email, or gamer tag to Google. Ads storage, ads personalization, and Google Signals are off. Analytics cookies last at most six months.
Google LLC processes this data as our processor. That can include transfers outside the EEA, under Google’s terms and Standard Contractual Clauses. Google’s own privacy information is at policies.google.com/privacy and business.safety.google/gdpr.
Cookies Google may set after consent: _ga and _ga_*. Turning Analytics off in Settings
stops the script and deletes those cookies.
Cookies
- Necessary
- The session cookie. No consent required. It expires with the sliding 30-day login window.
- Analytics
- Google Analytics cookies, on for new accounts unless you turn them off in Settings.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell personal data.
On this device
After you open a Circle, My Day, or My Circles, this browser may keep that last successful page and schedule, plus the hashed app files needed to show them, so pool times still appear if the network fails. That copy stays on the device. We do not receive it again. We do not cache start.gg, login, Manage, calendar subscribe URLs, or Circles this browser has not already loaded.
How long we keep it
Account and Circle data stay while you use Bobtime. Reminder logs exist so we do not ping the same pool twice. Analytics retention follows the setting in our Google Analytics property.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw Analytics consent in Settings without affecting the rest of the app.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the ICO. In the EU it is the authority in your country.
start.gg
Login uses start.gg OAuth. start.gg is a separate service with its own privacy policy. We only receive the profile fields they send us, and we use them to identify you in Circles and to load the tournaments you follow.
